Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Geale: Live Round-by-Round Results
Daniel Geale walks in first. The crowd is relatively quiet besides a small group of cheerleaders. Golovkin jogs to the ring, bows to the officials, and walks casually to his corner. It’s Michael Buffer time.
Round 1
GGG lands the first big punch, an overhand right followed by a left hook. Geale takes it well. Action is in center ring. Geale lands a good right uppercut. GGG stalks him with a jab. Geale lands another solid right but it’s GGG’s round. Golovkin lands a left to the body in the last minute. Geale slips and falls to the canvas. No knockdown. By the way, the round lasted four minutes instead of the normal three for some odd reason.

Round 2
Geale has a cut above the right eye. GGG lands a hard right hand followed by a two roundhouse shots, and Geale goes down. Geale gets up quick from the count and lands a good jab. But GGG is calm and continues to walk Geale down Geale continues to circle to his left, looks for good counter shots but the strategy is ineffective so far.
Golovkin 10-9
Round 3
Action starts in center ring. Geale is moving well, making Golovkin miss, but he still hasn’t landed anything that would cause serious concern. It is a spirited effort for Geale so far, once again moving to his left. Golovkin stays patient, walking him down, forcing Geale to move backwards. GGG lands a great right hand followed by a left hook and knocks Geale down. Geale is badly hurt. He stands up but the referee calls the bout.
Gennady Golovkin wins by third round knockout.
