Global Boxing Kicks Into Gear
The company, based out of North Bergen, NJ, will be promoting its second card on February 19th along with Mississippi-based Prize Fight Promotions at Essex County College in Newark, NJ. The show titled “Brick City Brawl” featuring undefeated heavyweight Mariusz Wach (23-0, 11 KO) of Krakow, Poland against Jonathan Haggler (23-3, 18 KO), will be televised by FoxSports.
“We are very excited to be open for business,” said Global Boxing Promotions president Mariusz Kolodziej. “We have exciting plans for the future of boxing and are looking to make waves in the sport both here and abroad.”
In addition, Maureen Shea will be the vice president of the promotional company. Shea, who is also the NABF female featherweight champion, will oversee the company's day-to-day operations from her office at Global Boxing Gym in North Bergen. Shea's Pandora Promotions will work as a sister company to Global Boxing.
“I saw how hard she worked on the Pandora Promotions card [on January 19] to make her dream a reality,” says Kolodziej. “She possesses the necessary leadership qualities to run a top boxing company.”
“I feel very confident in the team we have here, ” Shea says.
Matchmaking the company's shows is none other than “The Boxing Diva” Renee Aiken, who is one of the east coast's pre-eminent matchmakers. Aiken, based out of Delaware, is licensed to matchmake in six states.
Rounding out the team is publicist Kasia Niedzwiecka, who will handle all media relations and press releases.
