Peterkin Heads Up DiBella Undercard Feb. 21
New York, NY (2/8/13) – When DiBella Entertainment (DBE) returns to the Roseland Ballroom in NYC on Thursday, February 21, with the latest edition of the popular New York-based Broadway Boxing series, promoter Lou DiBella will be showcasing three of the newest and most promising young stars on the DBE roster.
Fighting in separate bouts will be NY Golden Glove Champions “The Notorious” Travis Peterkin (6-0, 3KO's), Patrick “All” Day (1-0, 1KO) and Louis Cruz (1-0, 1KO). Peterkin is set to take on Thomas Turner (3-2, 2KO's) in a six-round light heavyweight matchup, Day will meet Dominique Foster (1-1-1) in a four-round junior middleweight matchup and Cruz will see action in a four-round junior welterweight matchup against Demond Brock (3-1, 2KO's).
For DiBella, a lifelong New Yorker, having grown up in Brooklyn, there is always something extra special about signing a New York prospect. It was DiBella, of course, who guided Brooklyn's Paulie Malignaggi from Golden Gloves champion to junior welterweight world champion and the esteemed promoter sees a lot of promise in his three young New Yorkers.
“Travis, Patrick and Louis are truly three of the bright young stars to come out of the amateur boxing scene in a long time,” said DiBella. “We are excited to have them on our roster as this is the next generation of up-and-coming New York talent. This trio is going to be a staple on our Broadway Boxing cards and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to feature all three of them on our upcoming show on February 21, at Roseland Ballroom.”
A complete list of the card, which will also feature WBC #10-rated junior welterweight Thomas Dulorme (16-1, 12KO's), red-hot lightweight prospect Ivan Redkach (13-0, 11KO's) and WBA #11-rated welterweight Charlie Ota (21-1-1, 15KO's), all in separate eight-round bouts, will be announced shortly.
The card is promoted by DiBella Entertainment (DBE) and sponsored by Manfredi Auto Group, Newlio.com, and Everlast. The event will be broadcast live on broadband through GFL.TV. SNY will broadcast the event tape-delayed. Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased through Ticketmaster by calling (800) 745-3000. Tickets are priced at $125, $85, $65 and $45. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. ET with the first bout scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
