Klitschko Brothers To Hold Charity Gala Dec. 5 in Ukraine
The Klitschko Foundation Third Charity Gala will be held in Kiev, Ukraine, on December 5. More than 150 guests from all over the world will be there to lend their support to the Klitschko brothers’ charitable initiatives, and to raise funds for the sport and educational projects of the Klitschko Foundation.
A charity auction will be held as the part of the Gala evening and will feature exclusive lots from the Klitschko brothers themselves and their celebrity friends. Details of the lots and the evening’s entertainment programme are currently being kept under wraps, but it’s known that Sylvester Stallone and Hayden Panettiere will be at the event.
This Gala evening will be the foundation’s third; the previous Gala evenings were in 2010 and 2012 and some $2.7 million was raised at both events.
The headline act at the first gala evening was the German rock band Scorpions. Not only did the band appear on stage, but they donated a guitar as a lot for the auction as well. At the second charity auction, Wladimir Klitschko’s Olympic gold medal was sold for $1 million.
All funds raised at the gala evening are to be spent on the reconstruction of Children’s and Youth Sports Schools throughout Ukraine and on realising a summer educational project for talented children called “School of Success”.
