USA OLYMPIAN JOSE RAMIREZ IN HIS BIGGEST FIGHT SATURDAY NIGHT IN FRESNO
Fresno – “Freddie Roach shortened my big punches and sharpened my attack,” USA Olympian
Jose Ramirez told reporters at a press conference here today. Ramirez, 11-0, 8 KOs, of
Avenal, Ca., is taking on David Rodela, 17-9-4, 7 KOs, of Oxnard, Ca. in the main event
'Fight For the Water 3' at the Selland Arena.
“Rodela has been in some big fights,” Ramirez said. “I know what to expect when we get inside
the ring.”
Roach is with Manny Pacquiao in General Santos, Philippines. Marvin Somodio, who works for
Roach, is coming in from the Wild Card to be in the Ramirez corner.
Local promoter and agent Rick Mirigian is expecting up to 10,000 fans to pack into the Selland
Arena on Saturday night.
Ramirez vs Rodela is scheduled for eight rounds. The winner will win the NABF Junior title bout.
“I want that belt,” Ramirez said today at the press conference.
Ramirez vs Rodela will be live on Top Rank's Solo Boxeo Tecate's series broadcast nationally
on UniMas.
Heavyweight Andy Ruiz, 22-0, 16 KOs, of Mexico will take on Kenny Lemos, 12-8-2, 8 KOs, of
Denver in a featured bout as well.
