Might We See Broner vs. Theophane…Then Broner Vs. Mayweather?
I think down the line, if Floyd Mayweather wants to come back and go back to collecting out-sized checks, rather than spending his loot, a foe that makes sense for him is Adrien Broner.
Along those lines…Did you see Floyd bringing it to AB on Fight Hype?
The now promoter Mayweather was asked about maybe his fighter, Ashley Theophane, fighting AB.
He started in on Broner being spoiled, not appreciative, to him and Al Haymon. He took issue with what he perceives as Broner talking smack about his Money Team. He then said that it’s weak that Broner fought for a world title after losing to Shawn Porter, and that AB should be thanking him and Haymon, because Haymon because “Al hHaymon is part of the Money team.”
Amusingly, Floyd then goes into defending Bruce Jenner, as Broner had poked gentle fun at Caitlyn Jenner.
Interesting stuff, because Mayweather and Broner (31-2 with 23 KOs) have always been a united front. Now, no…Though we haven’t seen Broner fire a counter.
Maybe we will, being that I’m hearing it is more than possible that indeed, for his next fight, Broner will indeed fight Mayweather fighter Ashley Theophane (age 35; 39-6-1 with just 11 Kos).
Thoughts, readers? Is this beef heading towards a Broner vs. Theophane match..and a precursor to a Mayweather vs. Broner match?
