UK Boxing News: Former Hopkins Foe Eastman On Sky Sports
Howard Eastman's Championship clash with German based Armenian Arthur Abraham at the Versicherung Arena in Nuremberg on Saturday night will be shown delayed in the early hours of Sunday morning on Sky.
It will be featured in the marquee broadcast that commences at 1am and will also include Bernard Hopkins defence of his undisputed middleweight title against Jermain Taylor in America. It will be repeated at 10.30am.
Eastman's promoter Mick Hennessy is predicting fireworks.
“This won't be a cagey affair like Eastman-Hopkins,” Hennessy said. “This one is going to be explosive.”
“These two are come forward types who are going to meet in the middle of the ring and battle it out.
“They are both bangers as well. Abrahams has stopped 15 of his 16 victims, whilst Eastman has stopped 34 out of 38, so it could well finish early.”
Hennessy is hopeful that with a victory Eastman – who landed in Germany earlier this week – can mount another challenge for genuine world honours.
“This fight is for the WBA Intercontinental Middleweight Title and also doubles as a WBC eliminator, so the winner will be handily placed,” Hennessy added.
“With the talk that Hopkins is about to move out of the division or possibly even retire, there is every chance that with a win Eastman can go on to rule the division.”
