Haitian Sensation Hits Daytona Beach May 27
DAYTONA BEACH, FL – The historical Jackie Robinson Ball Park which is home to the Chicago Cubs minor baseball organization (Big Game Florida, LLC) and Manolo Corporation announces “Fight Night at the Jack.” The boxing card scheduled for Saturday May 27, 2006 will feature the return of Daniel “The Haitian Sensation” Edouard former USBA and current Fedecentro Middleweight Champion in a potential slugfest against Venezuelan heavy hitter Elio Ortiz. Ortiz who has faced Ricardo Mayorga, Sharmbra Mitchell, Kermit Cintron and Teddy Reid bolsters 21 knockouts in his 27 victories and plans on seasoning his 28th win with a KO at the expense of Edouard.
Edouard is simultaneously debuting at junior middleweight (154 lbs) which he believes to be closer to his true boxing weight. Edouard states “Boxers typically cut weight. If they walk around at 180 or 185 pounds then they box at 160. I walk around at 170 pounds so my true boxing weight is closer to 154 or maybe even 147.” Edouard believes that competing at his true boxing weight will make him an even bigger force and will offer fans very exciting fights.
Ticket prices for “Fight Night at the Jack” range from $15 for general admission to $100 for VIP seating. Student seating begins at $10. The entire fight card will be announced soon and should feature up to 7 bouts. For information please contact the ballpark at (386)257-3172.
