It’s Now Or Never For Quartey And Forrest
Quartey and Forrest hit New York City August 5
On Saturday, August 5, at The Theater at Madison Square Garden, DiBella Entertainment returns to the fray with “Now or Neverâ€? – a war featuring Ike “Bazookaâ€? Quartey vs. Vernon “The Viperâ€? Forrest. This will be DBE’s first return to the Mecca of Boxing since the heartbreaking loss of Paulie Malignaggi in his Puerto Rican Day challenge to Miguel Cotto.
Quartey (37-2-1, 31 KOs), fighting out of Accra, Ghana, is undefeated in three fights since his comeback after a four-year hiatus. He reigned as welterweight champion for over four years, and defended his title eight times. His only two losses came in a razor thin controversial split decision loss to Oscar De La Hoya and a decision loss to Fernando Vargas.
Forrest (37-2, 28 KOs), from Atlanta, Georgia, has two victories over Sugar Shane Mosley, one of which came in the Theater at the Garden. His only losses came at the hands of the Nicaraguan Wildman, former world champ Ricardo Mayorga.
Tickets are priced at $255, $155, $105, $55 and $35, and are available at the Garden Box Office, through TicketMaster at 212-307-7171, and online at www.ticketmaster.com and www.thegarden.com.
Fans presenting a ticket stub from Saturday’s Cotto-Malignaggi slugfest will receive a 10% discount at the Garden box office. (This offer is valid through June 17.)
