Poll: Will You Pay $44.95 To Watch Holyfield/Oquendo?
Holyfield/Oquendo: How much is too much?
The price was right to see Evander Holyfield, age 43, a decade past his prime, take out toughman Jeremy Bates on Fox Sports Net last month: it was free.
Now, word comes that Holy, on a quest to gain the heavyweight championship for the fifth time, will face off with Fres Oquendo on November 10 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
The bout will be part of card and will be offered on a PPV basis, for $44.95.
I don’t think I’m going out on a limb saying that this doesn’t feel like a pay-per-view bout.
But I could be wrong. Just because it doesn’t pass my smell test doesn’t mean that you Blog Squadders aren’t planning on ponying up to see if Holyfield can handle a competent, veteran heavyweight ten years his junior.
So let us know, Squadders. You going to buy this one?
