Kosovo Kid Fights in White Plains
Light heavyweight Elvir Muriqi (31-3, 19 KOs), aka the Kosovo Kid, will appear on promoter Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing card on October 11 at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York.
Muriqi will face “Irish” Ted Muller (19-7-2, 19 KOs) from Moline, Illinois.
“Elvir has always been a tremendous crowd pleaser,” said DeGuardia. “And who can forget his ESPN fight of the year with Sam Ahmad? Watching a Muriqi fight is always fun, as he brings out his passionate fans and the atmosphere is electric.”
Wednesday night’s show also features middleweight Joey Gilbert (12-1, 9 KOs), one of the stars from the first season of the Contender. Gilbert, will take on Kansas City’s Keith Sims (25-12-1, 14 KOs) in defense of the NABO middleweight title he won by stopping Jimmy Lange last February.
Also on the card, Olympic bronze medalist Terrence Cauthen (31-3, 8 KOs), hailing from the Garden State of New Jersey, will challenge USBA junior middleweight champ Raul Frank (27-5-2, 13 KOs) in a 12-rounder.
“We’re proud to be able to bring such high-quality shows to our home state of New York and we know the fans in attendance will enjoy this exciting night of top-level professional boxing,” DeGuardia added.
Also making appearances will be heavyweights Kevin Johnson (10-0-1, 5 KOs) and Tony Grano (4-0-1, 4 KOs), plus former Olympian Roberto Benitez (4-0, 3 KOs).
