Peter Manfredo’s Unfinished Business
Peter Manfredo/Joey Spina have a score to settle in Providence
Peter “The Pride of Providence” Manfredo, Jr. (25-3, 11 KOs) is ready for his showdown against cross-town rival Joey “KO Kid” Spina (19-0-1, 14 KOs) Saturday night. The Contender Special Put Up or Shut Up, promoted by the Tournament of Contenders in association with Jimmy Burchfield‘s Classic Entertainment & Sports, at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in downtown Providence, is creating a lot of buzz.
From Peter Manfredo Sr.‘ s Gym in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Peter Manfredo Jr. said, There’s real bad blood between us. I want to hurt this kid. He disrespectsed me, trash talking about me, my father and my wife, He kept calling me out and Saturday’s the big night.
He just swings for the fences, looking for home runs, and that’s when you strike out. He’s not a boxer, I am; I throw short punches, he throws looping punches. I’m going to wear him down and take him out by the eighth. I have too much skill for him.
Tickets are priced at $57.00, $152.00, and $302.00 (ringside) and are on sale through www.Ticketmaster.com, all local Ticketmaster outlets or by calling Ticketmaster direct at (401) 331-2211 or (617) 931-2000. Tickets are also available through CES Boxing at (401) 724-2253, www.cesboxing.com and the Dunkin’ Donuts Center Box Office.
The show will be televised on ESPN2 Saturday night.
