Chavez Off Saturday PPV, The Show Will Go On
He said he wanted to gut it out, but a 103 degree fever means Julio Cesar Chavez is a no go for his scheduled Saturday bout against Pawel Wolak.
On a conference call, Top Rank, the promoter of the PPV card, said they will elevate the Nonito Donaire-Wladimir Sidorenko bout to the top of the card at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
Donaire, the former flyweight and junior bantamweight titlist, will try bantamweight; he has a Feb. 19 slot on HBO against Fernando Montiel already on the books.
Wolak will fight Mexicos Jose Pinzon underneath the reset topper. Also, WBC lightweight champion Humberto Soto will tangle with Urbano Antillon.
