Diaz and Gonzales on Showtime Boxing
Chicagoland fan favorites David Diaz and Al “SPEEDY” Gonzales head to the East Coast this week to battle in separate ten round junior welterweight showdowns televised live on Showtime's Friday Night Boxing Series, SHOBOX “The New Generation” beginning at 10PM Chicago time.
Undefeated and world ranked Diaz, 26-0 (14KO's) will face off in the main event against Kendall Holt, 17-1 (11KO's) of Paterson, NJ while “SPEEDY”, 16-1-1 (7KO's) faces off against Oscar Diaz, 18-1 (11KO's) of San Antonio, Texas.
Said Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions, “This is what we're all about at 8 Count. Our fans have seen David and Al numerous times on our shows and now they've become true contenders. They both got that way by fighting tough fights which continue on Friday night. Last year they both proved their talents fighting tough guys and now the stakes are higher. With David and Al we've created contenders, not pretenders, just like our motto and our upcoming show on February 25th continues that theme.
Super middleweight Oscar Bravo, 21-2 (18KO's) headlines the next installment of “The Best in Chicago Boxing” as 8 Count Productions and Miller Lite present “Night of Destruction” on February 25th at the Aragon Ballroom. The ten round bout is the featured bout of a terrific night of professional boxing.
Tickets for this event, starting at $25 are on sale now by calling 312-226-5800. A seating chart is available at the 8 Count Productions newly expanded website, www.8countproductions.com, along with a huge photo gallery, fighter bios, fight posters as well as much more information about 8 Count Productions and the JABB Boxing Gym.
The newly remodeled Aragon Ballroom is located at 1106 W. Lawrence Ave. near the corner of Lawrence and Broadway in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood and is easily accessible, just 4 blocks west of Lake Shore Drive and just 4 miles east of the Kennedy expressway. There are three large parking lots located within a 1/2 block of the Aragon Ballroom. Additionally, the Howard Street Red Line stops just across the street. Doors will open at 7pm with the first bout at 8pm.
Also featured on the fantastic card is the return of middleweight Donovan George, super bantamweight Ivan Rodriguez, featherweight Omar Reyes and junior welterweight Johnny Novak. More information on these bouts will be announced shortly.
In a special attraction brothers Jorge and Jimmy Gonzalez will both be appearing on this huge card.
