Kaliesha West To Defend Title Against Ava Knight
Moreno Valley's Kaliesha West, the WBO bantamweight titleholder, will defend her title against Northern California's Ava Knight (6-1-2) on Saturday, June 18, at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena in Pico Rivera, California, said Lorin Chvotkin, advisor for West. West (13-1-2) will be making the first defense of her title that she won on September 18, 2010 by knockout over Angel Gladney.
West was unable to fight since that date because of severe injuries due to a car accident.
This will be a rematch for Knight and West. The Northern California boxer won a close decision over West in November 2008.
Knight's last fight was a knockout win in Indio earlier this year against Coachella's Gloria Salas.
