WHAT: The Oscar De La Hoya Foundation will host its 19th Annual Turkey Giveaway on Saturday, Nov. 14. De La Hoya will be joined by rising star fighters including Joseph “Jo Jo” Diaz Jr.,Julian “El Camaron” Ramirez, Christian “Chimpa” Gonzalez, Jason “El Animal” Quigley, Joet Gonzalez,Roy “Pit Bull” Tapia, and Los Angeles favorite Nick Arce, as they help distribute hundreds of turkeys, fixings and other products to the East Los Angeles community*.
*Note: The families receiving the turkey dinner donations have been pre-selected. Turkey dinners will not be given away on-site to community members without a voucher.
WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 14

Turkey Giveaway: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. PT
Interviews: Oscar De La Hoya and the fighters will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or after 1:00 p.m.

FACTS: In 1995, boxing superstar Oscar De La Hoya started his namesake Foundation to help improve the quality of life for the community in his hometown of East Los Angeles. Today, with the help many partners, the foundation serves thousands of people annually. The Oscar De La Hoya Foundation supports the Oscar De La Hoya Ánimo Charter High School, the Cecilia Gonzalez De La Hoya Cancer Center and the Oscar De La Hoya Labor and Delivery Center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (both located at White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles) as well as numerous after school programs that help guide young people toward leading positive lives and away from the circumstances of gang violence, juvenile delinquency and substance abuse.
