Jose Reynoso Signs With Thompson Boxing
ORANGE, CA (June 10, 2011) – Just two weeks away from his next boxing match, junior welterweight Jose Reynoso (14-2-1, 2KOs) has signed with southern California-based Thompson Boxing Promotions.
“We are proud to add Jose Reynoso to our roster of future world champions,” said promoter Ken Thompson. “He is a determined, salacious southpaw, with amazing hand speed.”
Born in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, Reynoso, who now resides in the city of Riverside, California, made his professional debut under Thompson Boxing in November of 2003. He will now make his debut under the promotional firm's edition of “Locked N' Loaded,” on Friday, June 24, at the Doubletree Hotel, Ontario, when he faces Esteban Almaraz (10-3, 4 KOs) in an eight round bout.
“We are very excited to conduct the career of a Jose Reynoso particularly because he turned professional on a Thompson Boxing card many years ago. We have been able to witness the steady growth of his boxing abilities. Jose truly has the potential to be an elite prizefighter. We are always interested in home grown fighters with the goal of building their careers and making a splash nationally,” said Thompson upon signing his new protégé.
Added Charly Perez, Reynoso's co-manager: “We are excited to sign with Thompson Boxing. They are a thriving promotional company with a clear understanding of our goals and they will be happy with Jose's work ethic. The synergy that we have will certainly take Reynoso to the top of his division where he belongs.”
“I have been fighting on Thompson Boxing Promotions cards for some time now and signing with them feels like a natural progression. I already felt as if I was part of the Thompson Boxing Promotions family so when my managers suggested it, I did not hesitate. I knew it was where I belonged and where I wanted to be,” said Jose Reynoso.
Continued Reynoso, 27, “I feel very grateful and even more confident with Thompson Boxing as my promoter. I am excited for my fight on June 24 and to officially be under their banner, it's my home away from home.”
The Reynoso vs. Almaraz bout will co-headline the June 24 edition of “LOCKED N' LOADED” that is scheduled to take place at the Doubletree Hotel in the city of Ontario, California. The event is sponsored by LUCAS OIL “It Works!” and will air on FOX DEPORTES at a later date.
Tickets for “LOCKED N' LOADED” are priced at $75, $45, and $30. They are available now and may be purchased by calling 714-935-0900.
Bouts subject to change. Doors open at 6:30 pm, and the first bell rings at 7:30 pm. The Doubletree Hotel is located at 222 North Vineyard Avenue in Ontario. The hotel phone number is 909-937-0900.
