This One Was Won at the Fridge: Tyson Fury Outpoints Chubs Chisora

They say fights are win in the gym, during the long and lonely prep time to get to the big show. But this one might have been lost at the fridge.

Dereck Chisora was favored to beat Tyson Fury in their Commonwealth Title scrap on Saturday at Wembley Arena in London. But when he weighed in on Friday more than he had ever weighed since turning pro in 2007, many fans on the fence thought Fury, the 23-year-old from Cheshire who turned pro in Dec. 2008, might get the W.

They were spot on, as the 6-9 hitter by and large cruised to a point win, with the only real rough patch coming in round two, when the Zimbabwe-born Chisora scored with a left and couple right hand follows.

One wondered if the 6-1 1/2 Chisora, now 14-1,  might've had better luck if he wasn't almost 17 pounds heavier than he was in his last outing, a TKO9 win over Sam Sexton in September. Fury was 255 1/2 on Friday.

Fury, who rose to 15-0 and has said he'd seek a Klitschko if he prevailed, got the nod by scores of 118-111, 117-112, 117-112.

I'll go out on a limb to say he'd get slaughtered by either brother if he gets the chance to tangle with one.
