Las Vegas, Nev. (Feburary 1st)…Seven Time World Champion and Las Vegas resident Floyd “Money” Mayweather presented separate $50,000 checks to two Las Vegas charitable organizations, Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas and Three Square Food Bank, in his continued efforts to support worthwhile causes that help needy families throughout the area.
“It was definitely an honor to support two great organizations doing excellent work in Las Vegas to provide housing and food assistance for needy families in the area,” said Mayweather, whose contributions for the day totaled $100,000. “Both Habitat for Humanity and Three Square have done amazing things in the community and I am happy to be able to make the financial commitment I did to both of them today.”
Mayweather's $50,000 contribution to Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas will support the Blitz Build project that starts on June 4, bringing the community and volunteers together to build a home in Vegas Heights for a deserving family in just five days. Mayweather will be the lead sponsor for the build and has pledged a total of $100,000 to the organization for the project.
Additionally, Three Square will use Mayweather's contribution to collaborate with corporate, non-profit, food distributors and governmental partners to provide children, seniors and needy families with meals and supplemental nutritional assistance programs. As a longtime advocate of the homelessness and hunger, Mayweather has been involved with Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth and through his Mayweather Foundation, has been regularly distributing bagged lunches to the homeless and hungry regularly.
Mayweather's $50,000 donation equates to 500,000 pounds of produce for the homeless.
