Live Boxing: Samuel Vargas vs Manolis Plaitis
Saturday, February 11, on Boxing Channel
Saturday February 11 brings you live boxing with the free streaming of Young Gunz a spectacular championship boxing event headlined by unbeaten welterweight Samuel Vargas and dangerous Manolis Plaitis and co-featuring fan favorite, middleweight Brandon “Bad Boy” Cook, against upset-specialist Chris Aucoin at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
Vargas, a native of Colombia living in Mississauga, is coming off of the 2011 Canadian Fight of the Year, in which he battled last October at home with Quebec arch-rival Ahmad Cheikho, who was unable to continue fighting after five of the scheduled 10 rounds. Samuel's opponent Feb. 11 in the 10-round main event will be Quebec welterweight Manolis Plaitis, a former Canadian light welterweight champion, extending the Ontario-Quebec provincial boxing rivalry. They will be battling for the vacant Canadian welterweight title.
Also, in an eight-round Special Middleweight Attraction Michael “The Brazilian Rocky” Oliveira rated No. 14 by the World Boxing Council (“WBC”), makes his Canadian boxing debut against Estonian veteran Sergei “Baltic King” Melis.
This event is presented by United Promotions in association with Hennessy Sports and MO Productions.
