“Fight Night” Up Against Pacquiao-Marquez
NEW YORK – December 5, 2012 – NBC Sports Network continues its Fight Night series, Friday night at 10 p.m. ET with a main event featuring Bryant Jennings (15-0, 7 KO’s) of Philadelphia, Pa. vs. Bowie Tupou (22-2, 16 KO’s) of Las Vegas, Nev., at Temple University’s Pearson and McGonigle Halls in Philadelphia, Pa.
USBA Heavyweight Champion Jennings, undefeated and ranked fifth in the world, takes on Tupou in a 12-round fight and a voluntary defense of his USBA heavyweight title. Earlier this year, Jennings won the very first Fight Night main event on NBC Sports Network, in a bout against Maurice Byarm. Since that time he has gone on to win NBC Sports Network Fight Night bouts against former heavyweight champion Sergei Liakhovich and Steve Collins.
In the co-feature, Eric Hunter (16-2, 9 KO’s) of Philadelphia, Pa. steps in to the ring against undefeated Jerry Belmontes (17-0, 5 KO’s) of Corpus Christi, Texas., in a 10-round junior lightweight fight.
Kenny Rice will serve as the play-by-play commentator for the telecast, and will be joined by cruiserweight contender B.J. Flores. Chris Mannix will serve as the ringside reporter for each telecast.
