What was your favorite SHOWTIME boxing event in 2013? It’s hard to pick just one. Whether it was Floyd Mayweather’s masterful victory over Canelo Alvarez in a record-breaking SHOWTIME PPV event, Marcos Maidana’s shocking upset of Adrien Broner, Jhonny Gonzalez’s stunning first-round knockout of Abner Mares or Danny Garcia’s battle with Lucas Matthysse, they were all seen on the home of boxing’s biggest stars and best matchups – SHOWTIME.
In 2013, SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING grew its average viewership by 24 percent over 2012, and a remarkable 64 percent from 2011. Three out of the top-four most watched live boxing telecasts on record for the network—as well as three out of the top-four most watched individual bout—were presented on the series in 2013. That speaks volumes to the quality events that SHOWTIME boxing fans have come to expect. From the main event down through the undercard bouts, virtually every fight was a compelling and competitive matchup.
Now, SHOWTIME Sports presents a chance to relive the best knockouts, hardest punches and biggest upsets in “BEST OF SHOWTIME BOXING 2013”, premiering Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME.
