OMAHA, NEB. (November 28, 2014) — Undefeated World Boxing Organization (WBO) lightweight world champion TERENCE “Bud” CRAWFORD, Omaha’s favorite son, and No. 1 contender and mandatory challenger RAY BELTRAN, of Mexico, will have their Official Weigh-in before they rumble for Crawford’s World Lightweight title Today!Friday, November 28, at the CenturyLink Center in Grand Ballroom A (455 North 10th St., Omaha, Neb. 68102). Fighters will report at 4:00 p.m. CT, with the fighters stepping on the scale at 5:00 p.m. CT.
The Official Weigh-In will be open to the public. Doors will open at4:00 p.m. CT.
The weigh-in will be streamed live via www.toprank.tv, beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. PT.
Crawford successfully defended his title on June 28, at the CenturyLink Center, knocking out previously undefeated world champion Yuriorkis Gamboa in front of an energized crowd. The fight, a candidate for Fight of the Year honors, was televised live on HBO®, and according to Nielsen Media Research, garnered an average audience of 1.208 million viewers to the live, first-time airing, making it the third most-watched fight of the year so far. Crawford vs. Gamboa was the first world championship fight the city of Omaha had hosted in 42 years when Joe Frazierdefended his World Heavyweight Championship crown against Ron Standerin 1972.
Promoted by Top Rank®, in association with Tecate, the Crawford vs. Beltran World Lightweight Championship event will take place Tomorrow! Saturday,November 29, at the CenturyLink Center. It will be televised live on HBO Boxing After Dark, beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The live telecast will also include undefeated International Boxing Federation (IBF) featherweight champion EVGENY GRADOVICH’S title defense against undefeated contender JAYSON VELEZ and the replay of last Saturday’s world welterweight championship battle between Fighter of the Decade MANNY “Pacman” PACQUIAOand previously-undefeated former WBO junior welterweight champion CHRIS ALGIERI, which took place at The Venetian Macao last Saturday.
