Larry Holmes in NYC At “Shadow Box,” Holmes Doc Screens TONIGHT
NYC welcomes Larry Holmes, the esteemed former heavyweight champion of the world, as he attends the Shadow Box Film Festivale, the third annual fest. He will be front and center as a documentary called “In the Arena” screens at 6 PM at the SVA Theater on West 25th, between 8th and 9th Avenues.
Evan Grant is the man who produced the flick. It is the original version of a doc, “Out of Ali’s Shadow: The Larry Holmes Story,” which won best doc at the NY Film Fest in 2006. This version will be true to the creators, and a better representation of the true legacy of Holmes, who defended his crowns 20 straight times, which trails Joe Louis’ 25, a fella who possessed, if you stood across from him, a jab from hell.
