Anthony Ogogo To Fight on Floyd Undercard May 3
RISING BRITISH STAR AND 2012 OLYMPIC MEDALIST ANTHONY OGOGO MAKES LAS VEGAS DEBUT ON MAY 3 ON THE UNDERCARD FOR “THE MOMENT: MAYWEATHER VS. MAIDANA” AT THE MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA
LAS VEGAS (April 8) – Great Britain's unbeaten middleweight star and 2012 Olympic medalist, Anthony Ogogo, will make his debut in the fight capital of the world, Las Vegas, on Saturday, May 3 when he faces an opponent to be named on the non-televised undercard of the SHOWTIME PPV® mega-event “THE MOMENT: Mayweather vs. Maidana” at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
“It's an honor for me to be on the show and I can't wait for May 3rd,” said Ogogo, “I've had a great training camp and hope to be in the best shape of my career for this fight. Some British fighters never get the chance to fight in Las Vegas and to do so in my sixth fight is a real achievement and will be a fantastic moment for me.”
“British fans already know the great potential Anthony has and the charisma he possesses in and out of the ring,” said Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. “Now on one of the biggest nights of the year in boxing, fans and media in Las Vegas will get to see what all of the excitement is about. We're looking forward to having Anthony on 'THE MOMENT' fight card.”
Rising British middleweight star Anthony Ogogo (5-0, 2 KOs) has captivated the United Kingdom since his run at the 2012 London Olympics, and now he has his sights set on world domination. A talented boxer-puncher who shows maturity far beyond his years in the ring, Ogogo is coming off a shutout six-round win over Greg O'Neill in March, lifting the record of the 25-year-old from Lowestoft to 5-0.
