WORLD RANKED HEAVYWEIGHT PRINCE CHARLES MARTIN
SCORES KNOCKOUT VICTORY IN PHOENIX
Phoenix, Arizona (March 1, 2015) Undefeated and world ranked heavyweight contender “Prince” Charles Martin was victorious on Saturday night scoring a tenth round knockout of hard-hitting Brazilian slugger Raphael Zumbano Love at the famed Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona.
Time of the stoppage following a barrage of punches was 1:13 of the final stanza in Martin’s fourth defense of his NABO Heavyweight Title.

Dominating throughout the fight with a piston like jab and heavy handed body shots,
the 28-year-old St. Louis native used his outstanding conditioning to dominate throughout the battle.
“It felt great to get the rounds in, first time I’ve been past six and it felt terrific, “said the skilled southpaw. “I knew my conditioning was strong from training in Big Bear Lake, California and this proved it.”
“Zumbano was tough and durable, this provided me an opportunity to work on a number of things.”
Zumbano was taken to an area hospital for an evaluation after the fight but released
In the morning after a night of observation.
“It was a long night waiting to hear how Raphael was but I was very happy to see him at the hotel this morning after being released.”
“This was an important fight for Charles, we knew his conditioning was strong and he was able to truly show his skill set against a battle tested veteran like Love,” said Michael King of King Sports. “He also closed the show like a champion with a solid stoppage in the final round.”
“We’re hoping to announce his next fight in the coming days.”
Martin entered the fight world-ranked #5 by the World Boxing Organization and #9 by the International Boxing Federation.
With the knockout Martin improved to 20-0-1 (18KO’s) wile Love moved to 35-10-1 (28KO’s).
