NYC-Area Residents, Check Out May 19 Box NYC Event
The 6th annual BOX NYC will take place May 19, at Roseland Ballroom with NY Sports legends Darryl Strawberry, Antonio Pierce, John Starks, Curtis Martin, Doc Gooden, Anthony Mason and others to be announced.
BOX NYC, produced by WCMG Events in association with Salita Promotions will feature six professional boxing bouts, set up by event producers Jed Weinstein and current world welterweight contender boxer/promoter Dmitriy Salita.
The event will provide an opportunity to secure a seat at the World Series of Poker at a Texas Hold' Em poker tournament with a portion of the proceeds from the event benefiting Sophie's Voice Foundation, a charitable organization co-founded by actor Boris Kodjoe and his wife, actress Nicole Ari Parker supporting children and adults with Spina Bifida.
The boxing portion of the evening will feature welterweight prospect and Golden Gloves champion Mike Ruiz fighting for the prestigious New York State title. The card will also highlight four-time US Army champion and US Olympic Alternate, Boyd Melson in a Junior Middleweight bout as well as Juan Dominguez, Deano Burrel and Tommy Hardwood.

Tickets are priced at $40 for general admission; $150 VIP open bar and tables, including celebrity tables ($2,750-$12,500). The poker tournament buy-in is $175.
