Arne K. Lang – Editor in Chief
ARNE K. LANG was born in Brooklyn, attended college in Nebraska, and has spent the bulk of his adult years in Las Vegas. A hobbyist boxing historian, his byline has appeared in The Ring, Boxing Illustrated, and (British) Boxing Monthly.
A ringside witness to many of the greatest fights in Las Vegas dating back to the era when the big fights were held outdoors, Lang feels a special connection to promoters operating at the grassroots level, some of whom he has served as a publicist and ring announcer.
Lang’s first boxing book, titled “Prizefighting: An American History” was released in 2008 by McFarland and reissued in a paperback edition in 2020. His latest book, titled “Sports Betting and Bookmaking: An American History” was released by Rowman & Littlefield in 2016. Publishers Weekly says: “This excellent look at ‘America’s love/hate affair with sports gambling’ delivers fascinating insights.”
