The Sweet Science & Boxing Channel Forum Contest: 2014
Featuring: You.
Beginning today, and scoring on the 15th and last day of each month, the assigned moderator will be selecting a best post, a runner-up and an honorable mention. To insure everyone’s best effort, we’ll offer a cash prize of $500, $300, $100 respectively for both the TSS forum and Boxing Channel, along with an awarding of points 3/2/1 for each forum as well. And yes, the same person can win both in the same period of time.
The moderator is to receive $1,200 for their half a month’s work which entails policing the forum for maniacs, keeping the peace and helping threads move along. We don’t expect you to comment on every post of every thread, but we certainly do expect to see your input and influence during your reign. Also, during your half month’s effort, the awarding of points will be at your discretion.
The moderators? You. This part is easy. We allow the most active members to start us off, and it’s their choice to select which period of time works best for them. They can coordinate this with Editor Mike, and there is no limit on how many times someone can helm the forum.
Bad decisions. As you’re aware, I deplore poor scoring. So this is where I come in. I won’t change their score, but I will insist that they’ll never have a second opportunity to botch it up.
It begins today, March 7, 2014, and concludes Christmas Day. We will start off with two-time ROTY winner ‘brownsugar’ for the next twelve days and then whoever follows him will oversee the balance of this month. The individual with the most points at year’s end gets a great trophy (by our standards), and we’ll fly you and a guest to Las Vegas at our expense for a dinner that is hopefully memorable, maybe even legendary… if you follow my drift.
Tie at the end of the contest? I decide. So you should want to be nice to me.
This way, the process grades itself. Hopefully there will be an uptick in what is an already solid forum, and who knows, maybe you’ll meet an interesting boxing personality or two over dinner.
