Brook and Bizier on Weight; Eubank Jr vs Blackwell Official
Two of the three biggest shows on the boxing calendar for this weekend go down in England, and weigh-in results have started to come in here at The Sweet Science.
The Sheffield Arena hosts IBF Welterweight World Champion Kell Brook as he defends his title against Canada´s Kevin Bizier. The official weights came in with Brook a few ounces heavier, at 10 stone, 6 lbs and 5 ounces. Bizier weighed 10 stone, 6 lbs and 5 ounces.
An interesting side note for this fight has the IBF applying a limit of 10 lbs for re-hydration. It will be interesting to see what happens if either fighter fails to manage his weight gain within the ten pound limit.
In the co-feature, 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist Luke Campbell and opponent Gary Sykes both came in under the 135 lb Lightweight limit to make their bout for the vacant Commonwealth title official.
The fights sit atop a nine fight card promoted by Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing. The fights can be seen on SKY TV in the United Kingdom.
Sheffield Arena – Main Event weight-in results:
Welterweights: Kell Brook 146.5 lbs vs Kevin Bizier 146.2 lbs

London’s Wembley Arena hosts a nine fight boxing card promoted by Mick Hennessy and Hennessy Sports that features a British Middleweight title defense for Nick Blackwell as he faces the challenge of second generation star Chris Eubank Jr.
Blackwell came in at an official 11 stone, 5 pounds and 4 ounces. Eubank was heavier by six ounces, coming in at an announced 11 stone, 5 pounds and 10 ounces.
The face off between the two men was heated, as has been the build-up to this fight. Blackwell, the defending champion, comes in a wide underdog against the challenge of Eubank Jr.
In the co-feature spot is heavyweight Hughie Fury, the 21 year old cousin of Tyson Fury. Hughie is 18-0 and he comes in a huge favorite over veteran workhorse Dominick Guinn. Guinn came in a full twenty pounds heavier than Fury as Fury weighed an official 16 stone 10 lbs and 9 ounces compared to Guinn who came in at over 18 stone.
The live event has nine fights total on the schedule. The main events are set to air on Channel 5 in the United Kingdom.
