Provodnikov Wants Brandon Rios, Or Another Big Foe

Provodnikov Wants Brandon Rios – PHILADELPHIA (January 9, 2013)—WBO number-two ranked junior welterweight contender Ruslan Provodnikov expects to be in a major fight sometime in the near future according to his team.
Provodnikov (22-1, 15 knockouts) is in line to face Brandon Rios and his team, led by promoter Arthur Pelullo and Banner Promotions along with manager Vadim Kornilov, are doing everything to make that fight or another big opportunity a reality.
“I think Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado was a great fight, but Rios won the fight by KO and people would rather see another fight that would be candidate for fight of the year in 2013 against Ruslan Provodnikov than have them fight a rematch with the same outcome as their first fight,” said Kornilov. “If Juan Manuel Marquez won’t defend the belt then we are in line to fight Rios or the next highest rated contender. I know Artie Pelullo is doing everything possible to make this happen. I also know that Amir Khan and Timothy Bradley would like a big fight so we are open to a fight against either of them as well anytime. Ruslan has fought live on ESPN Friday Night Fights over ten times and has a strong fan base in the US as well as all over the world. Big networks have showed interest in putting Ruslan on, but now we just have to find someone that will get in the ring with him for what will be a great and exciting fight just like all of his previous fights have been!”
“He is available and we know that Ruslan is ready to win a major fight. He has worked very hard. We know when his name is called to fight one of these big names, not only will he win but will do so in exciting fashion,” said Pelullo.
