Ex Mayweather Gym Boxer Might Be Roach’s Secret Weapon
Freddie Roach has an ace up his sleeve and try as I might to get him to spill his guts, I can’t get the Massachusetts native, even when I try to soften him up by dropping my Rs, to show his card.
Can’t get him to show his “cahd,” lol…..
I can’t get the Manny Pacquiao trainer to tell me who the heck his mystery sparring partner is, who is this guy he has snagged out from under Team Mayweather, and who will be able to give Manny some Floyd-like looks, and, just maybe, some intel to help inform the game-plan to try and hand “Money” some change, in the form of his first loss as a pro.
“He’s staying at my house,” Roach told me on Tuesday night, of “Mr. X,” the man who trained at Mayweathers’ gym, according to “Dedham” Freddie, and is a bit hesitant to go public with his new sparring gig, because of the blowback he might experience.
“He used to work with Mayweather. He says they are a bunch of (jerks).”
For real, Freddie? You pullin’ my chain, man?
“He’s in my spare bedroom,” Coach Roach said. “He’s in my effin house! I like the guy. But I won’t use him until the last two weeks (of sparring).”
Sorry, I tried crew. I will continue to pester, don’t you worry.
