Algieri Gets Amir Khan Fight, It Looks Like
UPDATE: Chris Algieri wanted a bigtime test in his comeback fight, and he’s asked, and will received.
Khan, the flashy-fisted Brit, will take on Algieri, the Long Islander, and that bout could land in NYC. “Having that fight in New York would be good for me,” the Brit hitter stated on a video which was dropped on his wife’s YouTube channel. “Algieri is a decent boxer overall, and he’s got decent power.”

He has been humbled, slightly, but the belief in his skills hasn’t been diminished.
Chris Algieri got the short end of it against one of the five or ten best boxers on the planet, Manny Pacquiao, last November, and he is keen to get back on the saddle. And no, he’s not looking to ride a pony, he wants a bad-arse bronco, an A grade foe.
Like who, sir?
Amir Khan May 30 would be a fab option, the just turned 31-year-old Long Islander told me.
Also, “Adrien Broner is in the mix. While Khan is the fight I want most right now, I love the Broner fight too. I know Khan is unavailable in June, and Broner said he is fighting June 20. Let’s do that in New York,” said Algieri, promoted by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing. “If no Khan, then Broner, I’m good with both! And fighting both this year would be ideal!”
See what I’m saying about the light not being dimmed in the advocado advocate?
“Let me tell you, new trainer John David Jackson has the keys to the cage! And we are ready to break the hinges off for Khan and Broner,” said Algieri, in closing.
