Pacquiao and Bradley Make 147 – Main Card Weigh-in Results
The MGM Grand hosts HBO pay-per-view boxing on Saturday April 9th, and Friday afternoon saw the weigh-ins take place in front of a raucous crowd in the Grand Garden arena. The proceedings went off without a hitch as all eight fighters on the main card made weight.
Manuel Perez weighed 137.5 pounds for his bout with Jose Ramirez, who weighed in at 138. Both men came in considerably under the 140 lb divisional limit.
In a feature bout at featherweight, former world titleholder Evgeny Gradovich (21-1) came in at 126 pounds for his bout with fast rising prospect Oscar Valdez (18-0), while Valdez tipped the scales at 125.5.
In the super middleweight co-main event, defending WBO champion Arthur Abraham (44-4) and challenger Gilberto Ramirez (33-0) both weighed in at 168 even.
For the main event, Timothy Bradley came to the scales first and he weighed in at 146.5 pounds. Manny Pacquiao approached the scales in a no-nonsense fashion and came in at 145.5.
The live event features nine fights in all. The featured bouts of the evening are set to air on HBO pay-per-view starting at 9PM Eastern Standard Time.
