HBO Boxing Nov 26 Results – Bob Arum and his Top Rank Boxing were at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas on Saturday night, November 26th, with a card featuring WBO world 130-pound champion Vasyl Lomachenko defending his title against Nicholas Walters.

The two men came out and spent a few rounds in a feeling out process. Lomachenko likely won the first two rounds because he picked the pace up in the last 30 seconds of the rounds. Walters tried to pick up the pace in the third round but Lomachenko picked his output up as well and he was starting to wear Walters out into the middle rounds.

Round seven would see Lomachenko pick it up a level yet again, and by now Walters was showing the signs of the punishment. Walters would decide that the seventh round was his last as he came out of his corner to tell the referee he had enough. In the post-fight interview, Walters blamed the inactivity for him being off on his timing and that he felt he was not going to break through.

The co-feature of the evening saw undefeated Konstantin Ponomarev (30-0) facing Silverio Cruz (35-18) in an 8-round welterweight bout. Ponomarev outboxed the undersized Cruz over the eight rounds to win a unanimous decision that the judges saw 80-72 for the Russian across the board.

Arizona’s undefeated light heavyweight prospect Trevor McCumby took on veteran Donovan George in a fight considered a step up for McCumby. McCumby came out looking to unload and after he caught George the first time, McCumby came in fast to try and close the deal. He did. McCumby goes to 24-0 with a first round stoppage that saw the end come at the 1:48 mark.

Undefeated welterweight Juan Ruiz (17-0 going in) remained undefeated when he stopped late replacement Fernando Carcamo in the opening round of a contest slated for eight rounds. Referee Robert Byrd stopped the contest at the 2:43 mark after the second knockdown
