QUILMES, ARGENTINA, Friday, April 6
Javier Maciel vs. Martin Rios, 10 rounds, middleweights
With this fight and its exciting undercard, legendary Argentine brawler Marcos “Chino” Maidana will be making his debut as a promoter, and it could not be a more promising one. Both Maciel (31-6, 22 KOs) and Ríos (22-15-4, 12 KOs) are two battle-hardened proven warriors who never fail to leave everything in the ring. They could not be closer to Maidana’s boxing style even if some of his DNA had been transfused into them. A great bout between two fighters who need a high-profile victory in order to keep their careers going. – Diego M. Morilla
What to look for in this fight: There is much more at stake for Maciel than for Rios in this terrific clash, but don’t expect Rios to just show up and play second fiddle to then settle for a check and a beating. Fortunately, the entire card will be streamed live for free on YouTube.

Also on This Card:
Bobhirzhan Mominov vs. Ricardo Soria, 6 rounds super welterweights.
Mukhammad Kuldashov vs. Cristian Choque Chambi, 4 rounds flyweights.
Fernando Martinez vs. Nicolas Botelli, 6 rounds, bantamweights.
Shokhrukh Abdiev vs. Luis Ojeda, 4 rounds, lightweights.
AVELLANEDA, ARGENTINA, Friday, April 6
Yesica Bopp vs Soledad Del Valle, 10 rounds, WBA female super flyweight title
Bopp (33-1-0, 14 KOs) will be defending her 108-pound crown against her compatriot “Playboy” Del Valle (13-10-4, 4 KOs), an experienced opponent that is still keen on grabbing any portion of any world title at her 34 years of age. Bopp will be climbing through the ropes five days before her 34th birthday herself, and is coming off a stoppage win over Venezuela’s Debora Rengifo on Nov. 17. She will be facing Del Valle in front of her home crowd at the Jose Maria Gatica Stadium where she made her last defense as well. – J.J. Álvarez
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, Saturday, April 7
Erislandy Lara vs Jarrett Hurd, 12 rounds, IBF and WBA super welterweight titles
Two completely different styles will be on display in the ring when Cuban lefty Lara (25-2-2, 14 KOs) and the unbeaten “Swift” Hurd (21-0-0, 15 KOs) face off on Saturday. The Caribbean fighter now living in Houston is an elusive foe with terrific defense and a solid counterattack, while Hurd is a pressure fighter with demolishing power in both hands. Lara says that he will “clean up the division” and his opponent claims that he will show he “is the best” in the 154-pound category. Without a doubt, an emotional bout will take place at Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. – J.J. Álvarez
What to look for in this fight: Lara will surely use his right jab constantly, avoiding the exchanges in which Hurd could hurt him. The American fighter will try to cut off the ring to land from either side and cause some damage. However, if the fight goes the stretch, the Cuban fighter has the upper hand due to his superior technique. Hurd, however, is coming off a six-win stoppage streak. An intelligent long-range fighter facing a hungry and powerful foe who will seek to shorten distances and land his own bombs. Can’t ask for a better recipe than that!
Caleb Truax vs James DeGale, 12 rounds, IBF super middleweight title
An interesting rematch that will surely clear all the doubts left behind by the previous fight, in which “Golden” Truax (29-3-2, 18 KOs) was favored by the judges against England’s “Chunky” DeGale (23-2-1, 14 KOs) back in December 9. Canadian judge Benoit Russell (115-112) and US judge Alex Levin (116-112) had Truax ahead, while Britain’s Dave Parris had it even at 114-114. DeGale, 32, had conquered the vacant 168 lb title after dominating American lefty Andre Dirrell in May of 2015 in Boston where Dirrell visited the canvas on two occasions. – J.J. Álvarez
Also on This Card:
Julian Williams vs. Nathaniel Gallimore, 10 rounds, junior middleweights
Sergio Mora vs. Alfredo Angulo, 8 rounds, super middleweights
Emanuel Medina vs. Saul Corral, 8 rounds, welterweights
HAMBURG, GERMANY, Sunday, April 8
Rafael Bejaran vs Ilias Essaoudi, 12 rounds, super welterweights
Riding an 11-0-1 streak, Bejaran (25-2-1, 11 KOs), a native of Dominican Republic now living in Germany since 2010, will make a defense of a non-descript title (Bejaran is adept to fighting for all kinds of title belts from every organization imaginable) against local unbeaten contender Essaoudi (12-0-0, 9 KOs), who has been having some success at this weight lately. The 36-year old Bejaran is fresh off a first-round stoppage of Attila Koros back in December on the same card where Essaudi grabbed a decision against Ugandan-Dutch former contender Kassim Ouma. – J.J. Álvarez
