Royal Albert Hall Odds For Friday – Starting The Daniel Dubois Watch

Veteran British promoter Frank Warren and his Queensberry Promotions are at London’s venerable Royal Albert Hall this Friday with an 11-fight boxing card that sees three regional title fights in the featured slots.
The main reason to pay attention to this card comes in the form of heavyweight Daniel Dubois, who isn’t in a title fight but is easily getting the most attention in the build-up to this event. The young 21 year old has his professional record at 9-0 as he faces veteran Razvan Cojanu (16-5).
Cojanu is 0-3 in his last trio of fights, losing to Joseph Parker and Luis Ortiz in two of those bouts. His most recent loss came to Nathan Gorman, a Brit who is now 15-0 and is considered a potential future rival for Daniel Dubois. Cojanu extended the hard hitting Gorman the full distance and that is the main reason for this booking, to measure how Dubois does against Gorman’s performance. Promoter Warren is said to be working on a Dubois vs Gorman showdown for later this year.
Last week we saw Brit Joe Joyce, the 2016 Olympian who is following in the footsteps of 2012 Olympian Anthony Joshua. Dubois was expected to represent the UK at the Olympic Games in 2020, but he made the jump to the pro ranks early. Big things are expected for Dubois, who is facing similar expectations to Joshua and Joyce from some corners of the British boxing world.
Light heavyweight prospect Anthony Yarde (17-0) is in a match with similarly wide odds as he faces Travis Reeves (17-3-2). This will be Yarde’s fifth defense of his WBO Intercontinental 175-pound title and he is widely considered to be just a few steps away from stepping onto the world scene. Reeves is a 38 year old American who upset The Money Team’s Lanell Bellows this past January. He started his pro career off with a 3-2-2 record before finding a groove. Reeves’ lone recent loss came to veteran slugger Karo Murat in his only fight outside of the USA, back in 2017.
The British middleweight title is on the line between title-holder Liam Williams (19-2-1) and challenger Joe Mullender (11-2). Williams, the more seasoned of the two fighters, went 3-0 in 2018 as he bounced back from a pair of losses to Liam Smith.
The evening’s featured bouts are set to air on BT Sport in the United Kingdom. Check your local listings for start times. Below are the current lines with the fights roughly 36 hours away.
