Cotto vs. Trout December 1st from MSG New York!

TROUT VS COTTO 11292012Madison Square Garden in New York is the venue for the December 1 WBA Light Middleweight championship bout between Austin Trout and Miguel Cotto. Cotto opened as a -225 favorite with Trout a +180 dog despite being the defending champion. Fight time is set for 10 PM ET.

Austin Trout is 5 foot 10 inches tall and age 27 hailing from Las Cruces, New Mexico and is a southpaw with a career record of 25 wins and 0 losses with 14 wins by knockout. He won the WBA Light Middleweight title on February 5, 2011 in a unanimous decision over Rigoberto Alvarez and has since successfully defended the title on 3 occasions. He defeated David Lopez in a unanimous decision on June 11, 2011 followed by a technical knockout win over Frank LoPorto on November 11, 2011 and last fought on June 6, 2012 with a unanimous decision win over Delvin Rodriguez. He began his boxing career as a professional in 2005. Trout has also been a champion as WBA Continental Americas Light Middleweight champion as well as winning the WBA Fedelatin Light Middleweight title.

Miguel Cotto is 5 foot 7 inches tall and hales from Caguas, Puerto Rico and is 32 years of age. He has 40 career bouts with 37 wins including 30 by knockout. Cotto has a distinguished career as a champion starting with the WBC Light Welterweight title back in 2003 as he later won the WBO title in that same weight class. He then moved on to win the WBA and WBO Welterweight titles and later scored the title belt in the WBA Super Light Middleweight Division. Cotto is coming off a loss in which he surrendered the WBA Super Light Middleweight championship belt to Floyd Mayweather, Jr. on May 5, 2012 in a unanimous decision.

Cotto’s record as a champion is countered by Trout’s undefeated career record to make for a true “Dream Bout” as this one could go the 12 round distance!

In one of the best bouts on that card Artur Beterbiev will face Jeff Page Jr for the NABA / Vacant WBO NABO Light Heavyweight Title / Vacant IBF North American Heavyweight title. Beterbiev opened as a -3500 favorite with the Boxing odds while Page opened as a +1200 dog.

The 29 year old Artur Beterbiev stands at six feet and one half inches tall with an orthodox stance. Beterbiev is a native of Russia and now resides in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He has a career record of six wins, no losses, and no draws. Out of his six wins all of them have come by knockout. Beterbiev is ranked third in Russia and 17th in the world.

Beterbiev is coming off a knockout win over Tavoris Cloud in the second round of a scheduled 12 round bout that took place on September 27, 2014 at the Bell Centre in Montreal for the vacant NABA Light Heavyweight title.

Prior to that Beterbiev scored a technical knockout win over Alvaro Enriquez in the first round of a scheduled six round bout that took place on August 22, 2014 at the Complexe Sportif Sportscene, Mont Saint Hilaire, Quebec, Canada.

Jeff Page Jr

The 24 year old Jeff Page Jr resides in Andover, Kansas, USA and is ranked 13th in the USA and 56th in the world. Page has a career record of 15 wins, no losses, and no draws. Page has scored a total of 10 knockouts out of his 15 career victories.

Page is coming off a knockout win over Maxell Taylor in the fifth round of a scheduled 10 round bout that took place on October 11, 2014 at the Beech Activity Center, Wichita, Kansas, USA.

Prior to that Page scored a knockout win over Dominique Alexander in the sixth round of a scheduled 10 round bout that took place on June 14, 2014 also at the Beech Activity Center.
