Boxing Odds – Bey vs. Vazquez for IBF Lightweight Title September 13!

Miguel Vazquez has been the IBF lightweight champion for the past four years and has successfully defended his title in six consecutive bouts in a career in which he is still yet to be knocked out. Mickey Bey is the latest challenger that will try and take the title belt away from Vazquez as the two will match up at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on September 13. Miguel Vazquez is 27 years of age and stands at five feet ten inches tall with a reach of 72 inches and fights from an orthodox stance. Vazquez is also known as “Titere” and the “Puppet.” Vazquez was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico where he still resides. Vazquez is the top ranked Mexican lightweight and is ranked second in the world. He has a career record of 34 wins, three losses, and 0 draws with 13 out of his 34 wins coming by knockout. Vazquez is coming off his sixth consecutive title belt defense win as he scored a 12 round unanimous decision win over Denis Shafikov on February 22, 2014 in a bout that took place at the Cotai Arena, Venetian Resort, Macau, China. On August 14, 2010 Vazquez won the then vacant IBF lightweight title in a 12 round unanimous decision win over Ji Hoon Kim.

In one of the best bouts on that card Artur Beterbiev will face Jeff Page Jr for the NABA / Vacant WBO NABO Light Heavyweight Title / Vacant IBF North American Heavyweight title. Beterbiev opened as a -3500 favorite with the Boxing odds while Page opened as a +1200 dog.

The 29 year old Artur Beterbiev stands at six feet and one half inches tall with an orthodox stance. Beterbiev is a native of Russia and now resides in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Page is coming off a knockout win over Maxell Taylor in the fifth round of a scheduled 10 round bout that took place on October 11, 2014 at the Beech Activity Center, Wichita, Kansas, USA.

Prior to that Page scored a knockout win over Dominique Alexander in the sixth round of a scheduled 10 round bout that took place on June 14, 2014 also at the Beech Activity Center.
