Vazquez is also known as “Titere” and the “Puppet.” Vazquez was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico where he still resides. Vazquez is the top ranked Mexican lightweight and is ranked second in the world. He has a career record of 34 wins, three losses, and 0 draws with 13 out of his 34 wins coming by knockout. Vazquez is coming off his sixth consecutive title belt defense win as he scored a 12 round unanimous decision win over Denis Shafikov on February 22, 2014 in a bout that took place at the Cotai Arena, Venetian Resort, Macau, China. On August 14, 2010 Vazquez won the then vacant IBF lightweight title in a 12 round unanimous decision win over Ji Hoon Kim.
