Vargas is coming off a 12 round unanimous decision win over Anton Novikov for the WBA world light welterweight title at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, NV. The win was his first title defense of the WBA world light welterweight belt which he won in a 12 round unanimous decision win over Khabib Allakhverdiev on April 12, 2014. Vargas is ranked third in the United States and fourth in the world.
Antonio DeMarco
The 28 year old Antonio DeMarco stands at five feet 10 inches tall with a reach of 71 inches and a southpaw stance. DeMarco is a native of Mexico where he still resides in the city of Tijuana. DeMarco has a career record of 31 wins, three losses, and one draw. Out of DeMarco’s 31 career wins a total of 23 have come by knockout. DeMarco has suffered two knockout defeats in his career. DeMarco is coming off a 10 round unanimous decision win over Lanardo Tyner on August 23, 2014 in a bout that took place in Tecate, Mexico. He is ranked second in Mexico and 19th in the world.
