Mar. 29, 2012 – Earlier this week Hall-of-Fame boxing historian Bert Sugar passed away at the age of 75. For many years, this remarkable and unforgettable boxing personality was part of the HBO Sports family, working at major boxing events and writing articles for hbo.com.
As a celebration of Bert Sugar’s prolific career as a journalist, historian and broadcast personality, hbo.com has established a remembrance page at hbo.com/boxing that will allow boxing fans to review some of his signature contributions to HBO Sports.

Launching March 28, videos capsules and editorial features recorded and written by Bert will be posted. In addition, personal remembrances from a number of HBO colleagues, who had the unique experience of working with Bert, will be spotlighted.
The accomplishments he achieved over the years go well beyond the ring. In addition to being an author, editor and television personality of the sweet science, throughout his career he wrote books on horse racing, baseball and talked all sports with thousands of radio shows. His words of wisdom touched so many lives which, for those who had encounters with him, will never be forgotten.
