Bob Arum Zings Mayweather For Being Boring
Promoter Bob Arum was in fine form today, looking pretty darn fresh considering the hectic and constant nature of the press tour for the Nov. 22 Manny Pacquiao-Chris Algieri scrap n Macau. The Bobfather, age 83 in December, wasn’t overly crusty, as he can be, not in the least. Oh, but he did manage to get off an arrow in the direction of Mr. “Money,” Floyd Mayweather.
The promoter was told he looked in fine form, and I recalled he said he takes an Ambien to conk himself out for that 17 hour jaunt to Macau.
“Lunesta,” he corrected me. I wondered aloud if they might tab Arum as a paid endorser. “Instead of Lunesta, watching Floyd Mayweather fight is a better sleeping pill.”
ZING!
Check back here for a parcel of stuff collected form the presser, which unfolded today (Thursday), at the Liberty Theater in Times Square. It was standing room only, incidentally, because, in fact, there were no chairs there for the press. That meant photogs got up close and personal, and it may start a trend, as the energy stayed high throughout the event.
