Beeman Beats Candelario in Boston
BOSTON (September 7, 2013) – Big Six Entertainment, in association with Danny Kelly Promotions, presented an entertaining club-show – “Changing The Game” – tonight at The Royale Nightclub Boston (formerly The Roxy).
In the featured fight of the evening, previously undefeated light welterweight Carlos “The Dragon” Candelario (3-0, 1 KO) used an effective body attack to establish an early advantage against veteran “Steamin'” Josh Beeman (4-13-4, 2 KOs). Beeman, however, dropped Candelario at the end of the third round with a picture-perfect left hook to deadlock the scoring, and switch the momentum of the fight. It all came down to the fourth and final round, in which Beeman prevailed to win a majority decision (38-37, 38-37, 38-38). Beeman hadn't won a fight in nearly five years, going 0-11-2 during that stretch.
Former U.S. amateur star, welterweight “Speedy” Rashidi Ellis (2-0), registered his first knockout as a professional, dropping Aquilano Brandao (0-2) three times en route to a win by first-round technical knockout. Ellis was the 2012 National PAL champion. Light heavyweight Fadoul “The Brown Bomber” Louis (3-1-2, 1 KO) came back from a one-point disadvantage going into the last round in an action-packed four-round draw with K.J. Harrison-Lombardi (2-0-1) in the fight of the night.
Heavyweight Donnie “The Big Nasty” Palmer (1-0-1) recorded his first pro victory, knocking down Aneudy “The Karate Kid” Rodriguez (0-2) three times in the second round, and once more in the third before his corner threw-in the towel, resulting in a disqualification.
Heavyweight Julian “The Professor” Pollard (3-0, 3 KOs) improved to 3-0 (3 KOs), stopping a game Antonio Assermelly in his pro debut at 2:01 of opening round. Welterweight Greg “The Villain” Vendetti (4-0-1, 2 KOs) remained unbeaten, pitching a four-round shutout over pro-debuting Sergio Cabrera.
