WILFREDO VAZQUEZ JR. READY FOR HIS COMEBACK
CAGUAS, P.R- Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. will try to link the past and present in boxing when he resumes his career on Saturday November 1, when he headlibes ‘The Comeback’, at the Hector Sola Bezares Coliseum in Caguas that Miguel Cotto Promotions will present in association win Top Rank and H2 Entertainment. Hometown favorite Vazquez Jr. will face the Mexican warrior, Jonathan Arellano (15-4 and three knockouts) in a 10-round featherweight bout.
For this bout, the super bantamweight former WBO champion, who has a record of 23-4-1 and 19 knockouts, is back training with his father the former triple world champion Wilfredo Vazquez Sr. “I wanted to have my father for the last fight in my training camp together with my conditioning coach Angel Heredia, but could not be possible, but now we are together” stated Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. “This fight with Jonathan Arellano is a very important one for Papito, a win over hm may take him to another world title opportunity”, Wilfredo Sr. said. “Arellano is tough fighter, but we will be ready for him” Vazquez Jr. said.
In addition, to this great Puerto Rico vs. Mexico rivalry the co-main event will headline undeafeted super feather weight prospect Alberto “El Explosivo” Machado (8-0, 6KO’s) vs. Alvin Torres (8-1-2, 6KO’s) in a 8 round fight. Also the flyweight undeafeted prospect from Las Marias, Puerto Rico; Jose ‘Chiquiro’ Martinez (12-0, 7KO’s) will collide with Luis Cosme (8-4-1, 4KO’s). Also, making his debut with Cotto Promotions the son to Wilfredo Vazquez Sr. the flyweight Israel ‘El Heredero’ Vazquez (9-0-2, 6KO’s) will make his comeback to the ring in a 6 round fight. The undeafeted prospect Freddy Ortiz (2-0 and two knockouts will collide with Jonathan Feliciano (0-1) in a 4 round bout.
“THE COMEBACK” will be part of the ‘Solo Boxeo Tecate’ series presented on Univision Deportes and is promoted by Miguel Cotto Promotions in association with Top Rank and H2 Entertainment.
