LOS ANGELES, October 3, 2014 – Frankie “Pitbull” Gomez, the pride of East Los Angeles and exciting future prospect, renewed his promotional contract today with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, the leading boxing promoter based in Los Angeles, California.
“Frankie Gomez is a natural talent and that’s why I have no doubt that he’ll be the next super star and next world champion from East Los Angeles”, said Oscar de la Hoya, president and founder of Golden Boy Promotions. “The truth is that we are very happy to continue promoting Frankie [Gomez] and help him to continue on his quest for a world title,” he added.
“This is clearly a huge opportunity for me because extending my contract with Golden Boy Promotions tells me that they have full confidence in me and I’m 100% loyal to Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions,” said Frankie Gomez. “I have the experience and I’m ready to face bigger challenges and win my first world title.”
Gomez (18-0, 13 KOs) who debuted on April 3, 2010 on the Bernard Hopkins vs. Roy Jones Jr. undercard in Las Vegas, Nevada, faced his toughest challenge to date this past July 25 overcoming the experienced Vernon Paris at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Gomez will be closing out the year in search of his nineteenth victory against an opponent and venue to be confirmed shortly.
