EARNS STOPPAGE IN FOURTH ROUND
Newark, New Jersey (May 9, 2015) Friday night in the main event at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, world ranked junior middleweight contender MICHEL SORO stamped his presence at the top of the division with a brutal fourth round stoppage of local fan favorite GLEN TAPIA telecast nationally on truTV®.
Controlling the action from the opening bell Soro earned the stoppage with a full arsenal of power shots forcing referee David Fields to wave off the bout at the 2:10 mark of the stanza.
With the knockout Soro improved to 26-1-1 (16KO’s) and claimed the NABO and USBA Junior Middleweight Titles. The 27-year-old Soro entered the fight ranked #10 by the World Boxing Organization.

“We call it ‘KO Camp’ up in Big Bear with all the talent up there. I specifically want to thank my terrific sparring partners John Jackson and Wale Omotoso, great people who truly pushed me every day in the gym.”
“Also, I dedicate the victory to Michael King and the outstanding team at KING SPORTS who have believed in me and truly prepared me for victory.”
Said MICHAEL KING, “We believed as a team that Michel would defeat Tapia and we made sure he was prepared in his training to win just like all our fighters.”
“It’s a great win and now we will focus on bigger fights for Michel, we feel the best is yet to come and he will be a world champion in future.”
