INTERNATIONAL FIGHT NIGHT AT

RESORTS WORLD CASINO NEW YORK CITY

THE HOMECOMING OF WILL “POWER” ROSINSKY

IN HIS QUEENS COUNTY DEBUT

SATURDAY, MAY 30, 2015

Queens, NY (May22, 2015) – On Saturday, May 30, New Legend Boxing will return to the famed Resorts World Casino New York City with another action-packed night of professional boxing for the latest installment of its popular International Fight Night series, proudly sponsored by Nissan of Queens and Four Ones Taxi.

In the evening’s main event, popular light heavyweight boxer-turned-New York firefighter Will “Power” Rosinsky, 18-2 (10 KOs), continues his comeback that began earlier this year, following a two-year hiatus. On March 14, Rosinsky made his long-awaited ring return demolishing Paul Gonsalves inside the opening round, at Madison Square Garden, the venue in which he won four New York Golden Gloves championships as an amateur. Looking very sharp, Rosinsky used his powerful straight right hand to drop Gonsalves four times en route to securing the victory. In what will be his very first professional fight in his home borough of Queens, just blocks from where he grew up in Ozone Park, Rosinsky is scheduled to take on Flint, Michigan’s Shujaa El Amin, 12-6 (6 KOs), a former United States Boxing Organization (USBO) titlist, in an eight-round contest.

Making his pro debut in 2008, Rosinsky quickly built an impressive 14-0 record to earn a shot on Showtime’s “ShoBox” series against undefeated super middleweight contender Edwin Rodriguez in October 2011. Though he would lose a decision, Rosinsky gamely battled Rodriguez in what was an entertaining brawl. A victory over Aaron Pryor Jr. set up an HBO-televised contest against former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik. Once again, Rosinsky gave the former champion a tough outing, despite losing a 10-round decision. Rosinsky bounced back to defeat Otis Griffin, winner of “The Next Great Champ” reality series, in December 2012. He then took time away from boxing to pursue another dream of becoming a firefighter. Due to a probationary period set by the FDNY, Rosinsky refrained from competing professionally as a boxer during that time.

In the co-featured attraction, Brooklyn’s Keisher “Fire” McLeod-Wells, 7-2 (1 KO), will face off against Queens’ Patricia “Boom Boom” Alcivar, 8-3 (3 KOs), in a rematch of their epic battle held in March 2012, at B.B. King Blues Club, in Manhattan. In their first encounter, both fighters hit the canvas with McLeod-Wells eking out a split decision victory. Scheduled for 10 rounds, the rematch will be contested for the vacant New York State flyweight title.

The always-exciting junior welterweight prospect Mikkel LesPierre, 7-0-1 (3 KOs), of New York, NY, fights for the third time this year against Pittsburgh’s dangerous Justin Johnson, 6-7, who has wins over four undefeated opponents,in a bout scheduled for six rounds. LesPierre last fought on April 10 in Brooklyn, earning an impressive six-round unanimous decision over Carl McNickles.

Junior middleweight Alicia “The Empress” Napoleon, of Lindenhurst, NY, made a successful pro debut, earning a first-round TKO victory in just 67 seconds last August and will make her long-awaited return against Budapest, Hungary’s Melinda Lazar, 1-0, in a six-round bout.

In a four-round junior welterweight contest,Marcos Suarez, 4-0-1 (1 KO), Bronx, NY, a National and New York Golden Gloves champion, challenges Luke Noel, 1-4, of Campbellton, New Brunswick, Canada, who is making his US debut.

Bronx welterweight Peter Dobson, 3-0 (2 KOs), challenges the debuting Ismael Lebron in a four-round contest. With his high-intensity work rate and aggressiveness, Dobson earned a third-round stoppage victory in Rye Brook, NY, on February 20, over Tyrell White.Lebron is an accomplished amateur praised for his fast combinations and heavy hands and many are eagerly awaiting his debut into the paid ranks.

Far Rockaway-native Joseph Williams, 5-0 (4 KOs), will take on Yushuwa Zadok, 2-3-1 (2 KOs), of Atlanta, GA, in a six-round cruiserweight bout. Prior to turning pro in September 2013, Williams won silver at the 2011 US Olympic Team Trials and then became the 2012 New York Golden Gloves heavyweight champion as an amateur. Zadok never shies away from a challenge, as Williams will be the fifth consecutive undefeated fighter that he has faced.

Local Mike Marshall, of the Bronx, NY, will make his pro debut in a four-round cruiserweight battle against Worcester, Massachusetts’ colorful Ralph Johnson, 2-4 (1 KO). Marshall, a 2014 PAL National semi-finalist, enters the professional ranks with over 30 amateur fights under his belt. Johnson is coming off of a major upset victory over previously unbeaten prospect Max Tassy on May 8 in Rye Brook, New York.

Slick unbeaten junior lightweight Brandon Williams, 7-0, of Rochester, NY, promoted by DiBella Entertainment, will see action against southpaw Jesus Sandoval, 5-6-3 (1 KO), of Redwood City, CA, in a six-round contest. Williams’ previous outing, also held at Resorts World Casino, had the crowd on its feet as he expertly outboxed the tough Micah Branch over six frames to win a unanimous decision.

Co-promoted by DiBella Entertainment and Maravilla Box Promotions, the highly touted Jonathan “Maravilla” Alonso, 4-0 (3 KOs), makes a quick return to the ring, following a second-round TKO victory in Rye Brook, NY, on May 8. He will be facing Dominican Ken Alvarez, 6-1-2 (3 KOs), who resides in Puerto Rico. Considered one of the best amateur boxers in Spain’s history, Alonso was born in Moca, Dominican Republic, but moved to Spain at just seven years old. He took up boxing as an amateur at the age of 16, compiling an 85-11 record, including having competed in the 2012 London Olympics. He won gold medals at the Campeonato de España Junior tournament in 2009, as well as at the Campeonato de España tournament in 2011 and 2012. Alonso also picked up silver at Spain’s Golden Gloves tournament and the Bosnian Tournament, both in 2011.

All bouts are subject to change.

Tickets for this event on Saturday, May 30, are on sale now and are priced at $125, $75 and $50. To purchase tickets, please call (718) 487-4474 or visit www.NewLegendBoxing.com for more information.
