Taylor was born in the United States and resides in Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland, USA. Taylor has a career record of 18 wins and 2 losses in 20 career bouts with 12 knockout wins and two knockout losses in his career. He is the 11th ranked light welterweight in the United States and is ranked 27th in the world. On July 18, 2014 Taylor scored a 10 round unanimous decision win over Karim Mayfield.
