Boxing News: Lazcano Withdraws from Saturday's Viva Mexico Card
LOS ANGELES, California (April 4) – Citing personal reasons, lightweight contender Juan Lazcano has withdrawn from this Saturday's “Viva Mexico” card in El Paso, Texas, where he was to face Hernan Galaviz in a ten-round contest on the Barrera-Fana undercard.
Stepping in for “The Hispanic Causing Panic” will be highly regarded featherweight prospect Aaron Garcia (2-0), who will put his unbeaten record on the line against rugged veteran Bryan Garcia (7-12 2 KOs) in a six-round contest. This bout will open the HBOPPV card at 9pm ET/6pm PT.
“Viva Mexico” is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and is headlined by the junior lightweight championship bout between reigning champion Marco Antonio Barrera and number one contender Mzonke Fana. The card also features a WBO super flyweight championship matchup between Ivan Hernandez and Fernando Montiel, as well as bouts featuring unbeaten rising stars Abner Mares and Vicente Escobedo.
Tickets for “Viva Mexico” are priced at $35, $50, $75, $100, $200 and $300 and are available by calling (915) 747-5234.
