Boxing News: Gatti vs. Baldomir July 22
In a world where up is down, in is out, and certainty’s a fool’s game, about one thing we can be sure: wait long enough, sit through enough uncompetitive fights, and sooner or later a real slugfest appears on the horizon.
Arturo Gatti will challenge the real welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir, who recently showed-up homeboy Zab Judah at the Garden, on July 22. Zab may have got his megafight with Floyd Mayweather Jr., and may the best man win, but that bout is for a welterweight title in name only.
The much anticipated war between former super feather- and junior welterweight champion Gatti and Argentina’s Baldomir will take place at Boardwalk Hall, Arturo’s home away from home, in Atlantic City, NJ.
